If you’ve heard these questions as many times as I have, I think you will all find this super-helpful and easy-to-use. The best part is: it’s 100% FREE!
The library resources brochure is editable in PowerPoint. Like the Handy-Dandy Guide, this brochure is not a print-and-go resource. Rather, you will need to edit nearly all of the text to make it suit your library’s contact information and databases.
I included some of the more common databases like Encyclopedia Britannica, ProQuest, Facts on File, PebbleGo, EbscoHost, OverDrive, and Turnitin. You are welcome to use the descriptions I wrote, but you will still need to edit to include your school’s login information.
I update my library resources brochure every year before school starts. Some years, I don’t need to do anything new to it. Other years, there may be a change in our database subscriptions, URLs, logins, or other information included in the brochure.
Once you edit your initial brochure, you will only need to update it occasionally and make sure you have plenty of printed copies available.
This is such an easy way to bring awareness to all those fabulous databases your patrons have access to through the library!
Library databases are pricey, so it’s important that our patrons know what databases are available and how to access them. No one–teachers, students, parents, or admin–has the time or desire to chase down logins, so we need to make this as easy as we can for our library patrons.
