New Release Spotlight: May 2025

All righty, everyone! The May 2025 Spotlight is in the books! The three Canva presentations linked below are complete for the month. I do not plan to add any more titles this month.

I know there were many more amazing titles released in May that I could not feature. This month started with my sister’s wedding and is ending with our final move from Mexico to Texas. By the end of this week, I will have flown on SIX flights, three of which were international. It’s been a wild ride.

I should be a lot more present with the Spotlight in June. We will have to get settled in, but since my husband has already been in Texas since December, we’re hoping for a pretty smooth transition.

My top picks for May:

  • When We Ride by Rex Ogle (YA novel in verse) – this is honorable mention since I missed this title in March

  • J vs. K by Kwame Alexander and Jerry Craft (MG humor)
  • A Hero’s Guide to Summer Vacation by Pablo Cartaya (MG realistic fiction)
  • So Many Years: A Juneteenth Story by Anne Wynter (informational picture book)
  • Hurricane by Jason Chin (informational picture book)
  • Fireworks by Matthew Burgess (picture book)
