$5.00

Why use Reading Bingo Cards in the library? Let’s face it: many middle school students are reluctant to read across a variety of genres. This set of 6 library book bingo cards is a gamefied library reading challenge. It encourages students to try new books, authors, formats, and genres.

HOW DOES LIBRARY READING BINGO WORK?

  • Start with the red Library Reading Bingo card. When a student finishes the red card, they “level up” to the next card (orange).
  • To complete a card, students select books from any one row (4 books). They can also read from the four corners. This means they have read four books.
  • Each Library Reading Bingo card has 11 possible book row options, allowing every card to be differentiated to suit different reading preferences/abilities.
  • Students can complete more than one row on the same card if they choose. I like to just require one row or the four corners because I like the students to have many options to choose from.
  • Students get a small prize and/or recognition for completing a row or four corners on their card. I have listed some inexpensive and free ideas for prizes in the Reading Bingo card directions.
