Read Off Your Library Fine FREEBIE

Research shows that overdue fines are a barrier to library services. I hate them, and since you’re here, I’m betting you hate them, too. These FREE bookmarks encourage students to read off their fines instead of paying money for them.

  • Recommended for: all grade levels and public libraries
  • Formats: PDF and PPT
  • You will need: printer, white or light-colored cardstock
  • Editable: YES, it’s fully-editable

Print and cut the bookmarks. Keep them in a visible location, preferably near the circulation desk or near the library entrance. When students have a fine, give them a bookmark!

Students can read-off their overdue fines by filling out this bookmark reading log. One minute of reading equals one cent of the fine erased. For example, a 50 cent fine could be erased in exchange for 50 minutes of reading.

The bookmarks are 100% editable in PDF, so you can change them as you need for your library’s needs. Be sure to change the currency if you are outside the USA.
