Top Tens

Top Tens is the newest addition to my blog, and I think it will be very useful for students looking for great reads, parents looking for new books for their middles and teens, and new teachers and librarians wanting to brush up on some great new YA reads.

The books in each Top Ten list have most or all of the following traits:

• are consistently popular in my library
  
• are easy to "talk up" to students
  
• have a great front cover
  
• feature a compelling book trailer that students enjoy
  
• have an easy-to-explain plot that hooks readers within a few sentences
  
• students consistently finish the entire book
  
• students recommend the book to their friends
  
• feature characters students can relate to
  
• have a well-paced plot
