Cool Tip for Using YouTube with Students

Do you love YouTube, but hate the (sometimes) inappropriate ads and (often) inappropriate user comments? Who doesn't? Every time I show a YouTube video, I have to close it as fast as I can just so my sixth grade babies don't go home telling mom how they saw a beer ad or the F-word displayed on the screen!

No more! I have discovered Quietube! This handy-dandy button can be easily loaded into your internet toolbar in seconds. With one click, you can block the ads, other videos, and comments from your screen. All you see is the video! Yeah!

One caveat: you do still get the "similar" videos at the end of the video you are playing. You never know what is going to come up on that, so be careful.

Here's how to use it:
  1. Go to the Quietube site.
  2. Drag the Quietube button to your internet toolbar.
  3. Find any YouTube video.
  4. Click the Quietube button on your toolbar.
  5. MAGIC! Be gone pesky ads and inappropriate comments!
