Giveaway: Yesterday (Martin)

Since I reviewed it for School Library Journal, I cannot post my review of Sanctum just yet. I will say that I LOVED this book, even though I really didn't expect to at all. The world-building is incredible, and the romance builds nice and slow without all that insta-love crap so prevalent in the YA paranormal genre. Tons of action and a crazy-unique premise really help top off a book I consider one of 2012's best.

In a nutshell, Sanctum follows Lela, an abused victim of the foster care system who has managed, despite all the odds, to turn her life around over the past year. Lela's best friend Nadia, however, hasn't been so lucky, and Lela is devastated when Nadia takes her own life. Soon after Nadia's death, Lela has an accident of her own and dies. Yep, you read that right--she dies. Stuck in the afterlife, Lela knows her friend is hurting and terrified, and Lela fights her way into the Suicide Gates--Hell, for those who committed suicide--in order to save Nadia's soul.
