I first met Alex Fuentes when my son was home sick from school. Between my sweet little boy's dry heaves, I read Perfect Chemistry from cover-to-cover. It was love at first chapter.
I met Carlos Fuentes a year later. The day Rules of Attraction came out, I was in a van full of librarians headed to Houston for my first TXLA conference. I sat in the very back of the van with my favorite partner-in-crime, and we both read our copies at the same time, always staying within a few pages of each other. It was the quietest she and I have ever been together, and I am absolutely positive our fellow travelers were grateful to Simone Elkeles's gift of our rare silence. We skipped dinner with our librarian cohorts, got ice cream, and headed back to our hotel to read. We both finished that night at one in the morning. Ah, Carlos! *swoons*
So tomorrow, I will meet Luis Fuentes, youngest of the Fuentes brothers. Elkeles's third (please don't be final!) installment in the Perfect Chemistry saga hits store shelves tomorrow. Will said partner-in-crime and I be reading it tomorrow during our school district's convocation? Well...how else are we going to stay quiet?
So until tomorrow, here's a preview: a behind-the-scenes look at the book trailer. Simone Elkeles is kind of famous at my school for her funny/crazy/sexy book trailers. This one is no exception. Enjoy!
